From Passion And Creativity, The Captured Frames Is Born
There are various ways in which we express ourselves with the world around us. The Captured Frames is a new section where I express and reveal to you my videos and photography competencies.
When I was a kid, I remember the stories my father told us about his achievements during his university years. I was surprised to learn that he was passionate about photography and worked as a photographer. His stories sparked something within me, although I did not realise it at the time. Fast forward to a mature man, it wasn't until I moved to Europe and got an iPhone that I discovered my passion for capturing a moment in time and telling stories through photography. What started as a curiosity soon became a fascination and eventually grew into a passion. I realised that not only I was sharing my father’s passion, but I also like to capture frames through my lens, helping myself and others see a different side of themselves and appreciate their beauty.
Capturing moments through my lens is about creating a personal connection that brings me immense joy in preserving memories. Whether it is a joyful wedding, a personal or professional portrait, a bustling cityscape, or the serenity of nature, there is something magical about showing someone a photograph or video and seeing their story reflected in it. The nostalgia and emotions that come alive are the true examples that it's not just about creating art; it’s about creating lasting memories.
Whether I’m capturing the quiet elegance of a sunset or the laughter of a family gathered together, I always aim to capture the inner beauty of people or the scene. Creativity, for me, is not just about the angle of the shot or the lighting, although those are important. It's about connecting with the subject, understanding the story behind the moment, and allowing that to guide the visuals. Each project is a new board to fill, and I approach each one with fresh eyes, open to the endless possibilities that creativity offers.
Of course, every journey comes with its hurdles. There have been moments of self-doubt, times when I questioned if I was good enough or creative enough. In addition to that, I have faced technical challenges such as learning new equipment and dealing with unpredictable weather conditions or malfunctions. However, each of these challenges has taught me resilience. These experiences have pushed me to improve, learn, and adapt. Over time, I have come to realise that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and push the boundaries of what I can do.
One of the most important lessons I learned is that photography and videography are not just about aesthetics, but also about capturing that present emotion, and its authenticity. I must say, I strive to be fully present in every moment, ready to capture the raw, unfiltered essence of what I see - whether it's the joy in a child's eyes or the quiet reflection of someone lost in thought. My goal is for everyone to feel something when they see my work, to be transported to that moment, and to experience the emotions behind the image or video. Making them (re)connect with themselves on a deeper level.
