Welcome to DeviliciouslyMe!
I have come a long way and here are my stories. There is the sadness, anger, the grief and loss, the dreams, the longings, those times I felt I could barely hang on, the hope, and those I felt alive.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Born in Cameroon on the 18th of March 1985, I was named Loic. I have always been good at helping people become mentally strong in many ways, including telling them my story. It was very impactful to one person, and he told me about Substack and how my potential could help more people. So, here I am, on my journey.
Travelling is on top of the things I love and enjoy doing. The sheer pleasure I get while discovering new places, new cultures, new traditions, hearing a new language (and most of the time trying to learn it), and experiencing the local cuisine for the first time is unforgettable.
The other thing on that list that I love and enjoy are parties, precisely, dinner parties, which I discovered and experimented with within my nine years of relationship with my Civil Partner Andrew.
Andrew became my civil partner in 2013, three years after we started dating. But life, being what it is, he took his last breath while I was holding him in my arms in 2017.
I tell my (past and present) story because I have come a long way. There is the sadness, the anger, the grief and loss, the dreams, the longings, those times I felt I could barely hang on, the hope, and those I felt alive. I struggled with anxiety and depression and once attempted to take my own life because I could not cope any longer, and I think it is crucial to talk about those things, too.
So, this ride will be pretty enjoyable, and I can not thank you enough for coming along!
What to expect!
I always express myself from deep within my heart through relatable stories from my life experiences about Mental health, grief, anger, self-harm and the joy of living. I do not have a writing schedule yet, but I shall do my best to write once or twice a week, and when you subscribe, you will receive it straight to your mailbox. So every piece will be a worthy surprise.
How you can support my writing!
If you enjoy my writing, I would be grateful if you could like, comment, and share it (and my channel), encouraging those you shared it with also to like, comment and share.
Subscription to my site is totally free. You would be able read and access all my free publications. However, you would be require to pay should you wish to access to more profound and personal publications, where my narration will dive into deeper stories of events.
You could also give a gift subscription to someone you cherish and think my stories would be helpful.
But if you feel very generous and want to donate a subscription to a stranger, click the button below.
Having said all the above, should you feel that you would like to support me right away, a pledge for a subscription would be the one.
There you have it. Those are the only ways your support would be most valuable for now.
On Other Platforms!
You can also follow what I am up to on my other social media sites, such as X (once known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. But if you prefer to keep things within Substack and are on the go, there is an app for that!! The Substack App is available in your respective app store (and I was not paid for this).
It would be most appreciated if you could reply or/and comment on my post(s) and let me know what dragged you over.
Let this fun begin, shall we?
Loic.
